The name Tarangire stems from the Maasai word “tara ngare”, meaning the “spottet water”. The Maasai named the river this way, because the river never dries up completely and even in dry season there are always some “spots of water” in the river valley.

Located in Tanzania, Mount Kilimanjaro is the African continent’s highest peak at 5,895 meters (19,340 feet). The majestic mountain is a snow-capped volcano.
